We love dogs and enjoy innovations that would improve the quality of their lives. Here is an overview of the innovation, product introductions and major events:
2003
March 18, 2003 - prototype of first dog bike trailer was tested by owner and Shade (see picture)
June 6, 2003 - first production batch of DoggyRides arrives in the Netherlands, sold out within a week
August, 2003 - introduction of sun roof on all trailers to accommodate curious dogs.
October, 2003 - introduction of logo including Snoopy's dog head
2004
March, 2004 - introduction of the DoggyRide 'n Run (dog bike trailer with jogger kit) - first dog stroller on the market
April, 2004 - DoggyRide is selected best dog bike trailer on the market by a test organized by a Dutch leading Dog Magazine (Hondenmanieren)
2005
April, 2005 - new model DoggyRide with diagonal side bars, height adjustable tow bar and crate function introduced
July, 2005 - limited version with camouflage colors
2006
March, 2006 - introduced the eXtraLuxe version, which was equipped with more features, such as the kickstand and lockitgo-hitch. The LockIt Go hitch was recalled as the material used for the hitch could not the weight capacity of the trailers.
2007
Feb, 2007 - introduction of the DoggyRide Mini, 4-in-1 product (bike trailer, stroller, crate, car seat)
March, 2007 - introduction of the Novel as successor of the eXtraLuxe, which included the lowered center of gravity and a new two section front opening with aligned front
- introduction of the standard rain/dust on the Original
September, 2007 - introduction of the hitch adapter for electric bikes and bikes with internal hub gears.
2008
February, 2008 - David Sylvester and Chiva starts his Tour de Dog with the DoggyRide Novel to cross the United States.
March, 2008 - availability of both jogger and stroller kits for Original and Novel
July, 2008 - Elizabeth Eldrigde and Liam start their trek Across America
2009
February, 2009 - introduction of the Novel 2009 made in alu alloy, center aligned tow bar and more convenient features, like the head rest cushion
- introduction of Original 2009 with a lowered center of gravity and center aligned tow bar
May 2009 - Bo Walton starts his mission called Chill the Drill for awareness about environmental causes
June 2009 - Cargo roof rack added for the Original and Novel models |
